Hoping to tempt lapsed customers back onto the airwaves, Eircell yesterday launched a pay-as-you-go card which will reactivate unused mobile phones. The Ready To Go SIM pack is aimed at those who have terminated their mobile phone contracts with either Eircell or its rival, Esat Digifone. For £49, customers get a new telephone number, a sim card that can activate any GSM phone, and their first £20 worth of calls. Calls cost 20p a minute off-peak and 80p during peak times; Eircell said customers can also opt for a flat rate of 50p a minute.
