A weekly container service between Waterford and Rotterdam will be introduced by BG Freight Line next week. The service will use Waterford's Belview Terminal which was at the centre of Bell Lines operation until the recent winding up of that company. BG Freight Line, which currently operates five sailings a week from a number of other cities, including Antwerp, Thamesport, Cork, Dublin and Belfast, expects to add a second sailing to the new Waterford route in early autumn.

Earlier this week, Eucon Limited announced that it is to operate a twice-weekly service between Waterford and the ports of Rotterdam, Antwerp and Le Harve.
