The President of Mitsubishi Electric Ireland has been appointed to the company's European Board of Directors.

Mr Fergus Madigan is the first non-Japanese employee to be appointed to the European board.

Mitsubishi Electric Ireland has one of the largest markets shares of any of the company's divisions and sells televisions, videos and air conditioning.

Mr Madigan has previously worked with Jefferson Smurfit and serves on the advisory board for the Higher Diploma of Marketing Practice at the Smurfit Business School in UCD.
