Trading on the Dublin market was firm but thin, dealers said

Trading on the Dublin market was firm but thin, dealers said. However, the leading financial stocks performed well, with both Allied Irish Bank and Bank of Ireland reaching new all time highs. The other main mover was CRH whose share price rose 7p on the day.

In London a burst of takeover speculation, following Wall Street's good recovery, helped the market recoup much of the ground lost on Wednesday.
