THE German stock market fell sharply yesterday after US non farm payroll data for May exceeded all expectations and gave market players a jolt, but stabilised at the close of trade.

Dealers said the stronger dollar at 1.53 marks acted as a "saving grace" after the US jobs data.

Paris CAC-40: 2101.99 (-31.23)

The Paris Bourse nose dived yesterday after the release of strong US employment figures for May. The CAC 40 index finished just above the 2,100 point mark, at 2,101.99.

Milan Mibtel: 10503 (-102)

Milan shares slid lower yesterday along in keeping with the other major world bond and share markets.
