Investors bid European share prices higher yesterday despite worries about what could happen to holiday thinned markets once crucial US jobs figures are published today.

In Dublin, however, the ISEQ index slipped lower, with the main interest in second line stocks. The big European equity markets all rose, with London firming strongly and Paris hitting a fresh 19 month trading high.
