The Budget failed to deliver any support to the marine food industry despite indications that a comprehensive package of measures would be introduced to encourage renewal of the white fish fleet, according to the Marine Food Council. Issues such as the inequities in the rateable assessment of aquaculture premises compared with agricultural premises were not addressed, the council said.
