The Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO), which represents songwriters, composers and music publishers in Ireland, has appointed Dr Paddy Lyons as its first external director. Dr Lyons, who served as chairman of the Irish Competition Authority from 1991 to 1996 and previously worked for the Fair Trade Commission, is the first director from outside the music industry to join the board.
