Losses at Celtic Helicopters increased more than sixfold last year to almost €1 million.

In accounts just filed, Celtic Helicopters Ltd recorded a loss after tax of €969,107 in the 12 months to the end of March last year. The loss is significantly higher than the €156,554 deficit incurred in 2008.

The abridged accounts show that the company’s accumulated losses at the end of March stood at €1.58million.

The company is controlled by Ciarán Haughey, son of the late former taoiseach, Charlie Haughey.
