Two years after he took his leave as finance chief of Tullow Oil, Tom Hickey is back in the game, joining fellow explorer Petroceltic as head of development.

His appointment played well with investors with Petroceltic’s shares rising by 20 per cent, adding €55 million to its market value.

Ted Harding is leaving Today FM’s Sunday Business Show. He will be replaced by Anton Savage, who will host it on alternate weeks with Conall Ó Móráin. The show is now going head-to-head on Sunday mornings with Newstalk’s revamped Down to Business, hosted by coffee king Bobby Kerr (right).

Denis O’Brien will no doubt be interested to see which of his radio stations wins this ratings battle.

Property investment group Capital D, whose backers include John Morrissey, Lochlann Quinn and Bill McCabe, took an impairment charge of €7.3 million and a writedown of €2.5 million last year as its property values fell. This pushed it further into the red, posting a loss of €8.4 million.
