THE death has occurred of Ron McCulloch, one of Northern Ireland's best known businessmen

THE death has occurred of Ron McCulloch, one of Northern Ireland's best known businessmen. Mr McCulloch, who was 67, was managing director of Cantrell & Cochrane (Belfast) from 1975 to 1993. He was a board member of the Northern Ireland Transport Holding Company, a member of the Northern Ireland Economic Council, and chairman of Coolkeeragh Power Holding Limited.

He was an influential figure in the Coleraine area, helping the borough prepare its successful bid in the 1960s to house a campus for the University of Ulster.
