INSURANCE group London & Manchester benefited from the upturn in the sector with a lift in its premiums for the latest half year period, according to figures published yesterday.

The company's new annual premiums rose by 2 per cent to £12.8 million sterling in the six months to June 30th, while total new single premiums were 22 per cent higher at £26.1 million compared with the corresponding period in the previous year.
