Accountants KPMG has said is it "not aware" of any pressure from its clients or its marketplace for it to merge with another body.
Commenting on the proposed merger of Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand, announced this week, the statement said KPMG is firmly set on its own strategy of generating strong organic growth.
