Steepleview, controlled by former Jones executive Mr Alan Sherling and his father, Mr John Sherling, has said valid acceptances of its offer had been received in respect of 85 per cent of Jones' share capital by January 6th, 2000.

Steepleview's offer for Jones is now being declared unconditional. Steepleview intends to acquire compulsorily any outstanding Jones shares to which the offer relates and to apply for the cancellation of Jones' listing on the Irish Stock Exchange.
