British fitness group Énergie was yesterday given the green light by the High Court to acquire Jackie Skelly Fitness from examinership.

Énergie has purchased all of the 10 fitness outlets in the Jackie Skelly chain bar one, in Greystones.

Énergie said it plans to invest €1.8 million in the gyms and claimed more than 200 jobs at the Jackie Skelly Fitness chain will be saved.

It is also negotiating with the landlord in Greystones.

The deal will make Énergie the biggest fitness group in Ireland.
