The Editor has appointed Mary Canniffe to the newly created position of Investment Editor. She will assist in the development of investment coverage on the business pages and on the Web, and will play a key role in analysing emerging sectors as well as the performance of individual companies. She will advise also on personal finance coverage.

Barry O'Keeffe (above), has been appointed Business Desk Editor with direct responsibility for production of the Business This Week sections; he will deputise also for Finance Editor, Paul O'Neill. Dominic Coyle (below), has been appointed assistant Business Desk Editor.
