THE Internet offers potential benefits to investors but also presents challenges when it comes to regulation and protecting the public, a City of London watchdog said yesterday. The Securities and Futures Authority (SFA), which regulates investment firms, said it was not intending to draft rules specific to the Internet. But rapid advances in technology were being made and rule changes "may become necessary at a future date".
