Coillte and the insurance group FBD are offering a new pension plan for farmers who use Coillte's farm forestry service. Under the scheme, farmers can prepare for their retirement by investing their annual forestry premium payments in an FBD pension scheme. Research has shown that almost 90 per cent of Irish farmers are without a pension plan.
