THE Irish Association of Investment Managers has elected Mr Des Doran (right) as chairman and Ms Ann Powell as vice chairwoman for 1996/97.

Mr Doran is director of investment (Ireland) for Standard Life and has worked in the investment industry with Standard Life since 1984. As well having responsibility for Irish investment, Mr Doran also has responsibility for funds managed on behalf of Standard Life's German and Spanish operations.

Ms Powell has been a director of Eagle Star since May 1991 and is responsible for managing assets of over £1.6 billion.
