Spending on research, technology and innovation (RTI) has increased in recent years, but must climb higher to maintain the Republic's position, a seminar heard yesterday. The Industry Research and Development group within IBEC, which monitors the sector, said that, regardless of uncertainties about the world economy, RTI investment remained a key and fundamental determinant of sustainable economic growth.
