Following a trend that started in the US and Britain, Eagle Star is the first Irish motor insurer to introduce a plastic, credit card-sized motor insurance certificate which can be carried in a wallet or purse. The Garda has approved the card, which holds the customer's insurance details as well as all necessary statutory information (type of car, licence number, etc.) A back-up, paper copy of the certificate will also be made available.
