INDEPENDENT Newspapers and Conde Nast International have formed a joint venture to publish magazines in South Africa. The first launch will be House & Garden which will be published next year.

The launch of House & Garden will represent Conde Nast's first publishing venture in Africa and will give the company a publishing presence on all habitable continents.

Conde Nast publishes more than 50 magazines around the world including Vogue and Vanity Fair. No financial details of the joint venture, which will be based in Cape Town, were available.
