Irish Marine Oil (IMO) has announced the commencement of drilling for zinc near Pallasgreen, Co Limerick. Chairman Dr John Teeling said the target depth for the first hole was 500 metres. Drilling is scheduled to take some weeks. Dr Teeling said the company is seeking a Lisheen/Silvermines type orebody. The licence covers an area along the south-western extension of the Lisheen-Galmoy-Rathangan trend.
