The head office of HMV Ireland is to close in June with the loss of most of the 18 jobs there after the company decided on a rationalisation plan which will see the administrative and marketing functions moved to the record stores' London headquarters. The managing director of HMV Ireland, Mr Alan Townsend, has left the company "with immediate effect".
