The continuing boom in the Irish construction sector means the State's largest builders merchanting group, Heiton's, will have plenty to celebrate as it reports a profit rise in the region of 18 per cent for its centenary year. Analysts expect pre-tax profits to come in at around Pounds 8.2 million for the group, which also own the Atlantic Homecare DIY stores.

Earnings per share are pencilled in for 11.6p for the group which can expect continued strong growth in profits in the current year.
