H.J. HEINZ announced yesterday it had signed a letter of intent to purchase Nestle's pasta and canned beans business in Canada. The terms of the transaction were not revealed. The US food processing giant was to acquire Deep Browned Beans, Alpha Getti and Zoodles brands, which are produced at a Nestle plant in Wallaceburg, Ontario.
