The healthcare company, Smith and Nephew, has recorded increased pre-tax profits of £2 million for the year ended 31st December, 1996.

This represented an increase of £778,346 on the previous year for the company, which employs 98 people at its plant in Kill O' the Grange, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.

The turnover of the company was £16.6 million, up from £15.7 million in 1995. This was made up of £9.8 million in the consumer goods area and £6.7 in healthcare.
