Almost 300 workers at Belfast's Harland & Wolff shipyard were made redundant yesterday

Almost 300 workers at Belfast's Harland & Wolff shipyard were made redundant yesterday. The 280 job losses at Harland & Wolff were expected, but came after the yard had secured an order for £300 million sterling (€474 million) of work and a letter of intent for a further £240 million.
