The general manager of the Guinness brewery at St James's Gate, Dr Matt Murphy, has been appointed managing director of Guinness Nigeria.

Dr Murphy, who is president of the Irish Exporters Association, will have responsibility for Guinness brewing in Nigeria, which is one of the biggest overseas operations for Guinness Brewing Worldwide. Dr Murphy takes up his appointment in mid January.
