The small business sector continued to show strong growth last year with the number of new jobs created up 50 per cent to 84,000. But the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment's annual report on small business wars of the need to address challenges to long-term competitiveness, including EU enlargement, the euro, the Internet, a restricted labour market, traffic congestion and childcare.
