SWISS food and drink giant, Nestle, yesterday said sales in the first half of 1996 rose 5.8 per cent and confirmed it expected good net profit growth for the year. Nestle shares eased after the midday announcement and analysts said they were disappointed the figures were somewhat lower than widely expected.
