THE world's biggest drugs company Glaxo Wellcome yesterday said it was "well on track" to achieving its aim of bringing three major new medicines a year to the market from 2000 onwards. The group said its extensive range of drugs in development had "the potential to meet important areas of unmet medical need and to fuel sales growth into the next century". The chief executive, Sir Richard Sykes, was optimistic of the group's future.
