German shares reduced earlier gains in late post bourse electronic dealings, as a weak opening on Wall street weighed on sentiment. However, the firm dollar gave some support. The index ended slightly down. Buying interest focused on the financials.

Paris CAC-40: 2,435.15 (+4.83)

French shares reduced their opening gains at mid-session, booked on the back of a stronger dollar, waiting for Wall Street to open after two straight days of losses.

The French market had started higher, supported by technical factors and buying on the first day of the February account. It then fell periodically, but closed ahead.

Milan Mibtel: 12379 (-38)

Italian shares opened mostly higher, shrugging off the weaker Wall Street cost on Friday, as investors piled into Stet and Telecom Italia, following the announcement of a merger between the two companies.

Market attention was focused, on the government's planned meeting with trade unions and, metal workers. The market ended somewhat weaker.
