German shares ended bourse trade higher yesterday boosted by Wall Street's gains last Friday and hopes for the market to keep up the advance. A slightly firmer dollar also helped to underpin the share market index.

Paris CAC-40: 2013.19 (-10.22)

French shares ended weaker, consolidating gains of the last four days, traders said. The office of the prime minister, Mr Alain Juppe denied a market rumour that he had resigned.

Italian shares finished mostly lower in a thinly traded market starved of fresh ideas as several banks and insurance companies were marked sharply lower.
