HOWARD Kilroy is certainly enjoying his retirement from the Jefferson Smurfit Group where he was president and chief operations officer. He wanted time to "smell the flowers", he said. But the chairman of Bank of Ireland is not exactly taking things easy. The roads around Dalkey are resounding to the roar of Howard's new 900cc Triumph Thunderbird. The huge motorbike was a birthday present for the former No 2 at Smurfit. The Margin wonders whether Howard will turn up at the Smurfit a.g.m., or the court of the Bank of Ireland, in classic biking leathers.
