Mr Peter Duffy, who resigned as chairman of Silvermines last year, received compensation of £41,000 sterling (€69,787.23) for loss of office, according to the group's annual report. Mr Jonathan Glanz, the new chairman, increased his remuneration from £20,000 in 1998 to £28,000 in 1999.
