Fog enslaves fund managers

Irish fund managers have a dreadfully tough life

Irish fund managers have a dreadfully tough life. There they were, the poor lambs, sitting in the Gold Circle lounge in Dublin Airport last Sunday morning, waiting to go on a trip to the US organised by Goodbodys to look at the American activities of some of the bigger Irish public companies. But those of you like The Margin who struggled out of bed on Sunday morning will be well aware that visibility on the roads of downtown Dublin was, well, a bit murky. Out at the airport, the fund managers were delayed for a good portion of the day. When they eventually got out of Dublin, they had to put up with the hardship of business class for their transatlantic trip. And then the real attractions Maryland banks, Smurfit paper plants and CRH quarries. What a trip!
