Swiss insurer Zurich Financial Services said claims related to a series of tornadoes and hail storms in the United States in April and May would amount to around $295 million.

The estimated aggregate claims for both its Zurich North America and Farmers Re subsidiaries are net of reinsurance and before tax and will be recorded in the half-year results due to be released on August 11th, Zurich said today.
