Glencore has priced its multi-billion initial public offering at 530 pence, a level the world’s largest commodities house hopes will ensure a strong debut for its shares when they start trading today in London.

The flotation is the largest to date in the UK and will see Glencore become only the third company – and the first in 25 years – to enter the FTSE 100 index on its first day of trading.
