The head of wholesale banks supervision John Moran, a qualified solicitor, has been moved temporarily from the the Central Bank to the Department of Finance where he will help to oversee the restructuring of the banking sector.

A former chief executive of Zurich Capital Markets, Mr Moran led the review of deleveraging of the banking sector at the Central Bank.
