Central Bank issues warning on US firm

The Central Bank has issued a warning on investment firm Elliott Laurence Consultancy Group (USA).

The Central Bank has issued a warning on investment firm Elliott Laurence Consultancy Group (USA).

Acccording to the bank, the company is not authorised as an investment firm in Ireland and has been offering investment services in the State.

“It is a criminal offence for an investment firm to operate in Ireland unless it has an authorisation from the Central Bank of Ireland,” the bank said, noting that clients of unauthorised firms are not eligible for compensation from the Investor Compensation Scheme.

Ninety-one warnings naming 168 firms have been issued by the Central Bank since 1998.
