Eureko announces acquisition

Eureko Business Holdings has acquired a 58 per cent shareholding in the

Eureko Business Holdings has acquired a 58 per cent shareholding in the

Slovakian insurance company Union Insurance.

The acquisition has been made for an undisclosed sum in co-operation with

Polnobanka, the first private bank to be established in the former

Czechoslovakia after the 1989 revolution.

Union Insurance is the seventh largest insurance company in Slovakia. Eureko

Ireland consists of life and general insurers Friends Provident and Celtic

International, it is the Irish division of the pan European Eureko alliance.
