The acquisition of Neurex Corporation by Athlone-based Elan Corporation, has moved a step closer with the completion of another condition. Elan has announced that the planned meeting between Neurex and the US Food and Drug Administration on a new drug application related to ziconotide has occurred. Neurex shareholders are now to vote on the acquisition at a meeting scheduled for August 11th. Elan said it expects to complete the deal shortly.
