Eircom plans to install 7,000 multi-payment payphones by April 2001. These kiosks will accept euro and Irish coins as well as credit and call cards. Consumer Choice, the magazine of the Consumers Association of Ireland (CAI), says this is another reminder of the importance of preparing for the introduction of the euro and another opportunity for its chairman to ask "When will Eircom introduce true per second billing?"
