Starting next year, social welfare Budget increases will be paid out from the start of the tax year in April

Starting next year, social welfare Budget increases will be paid out from the start of the tax year in April. Until now, such increases have not kicked in until the October after the December Budget announcement.

Speaking earlier this week, Minister for Social Community and Family Affairs Mr Ahern also said the Government was on target to deliver its £100 pension a week campaign promise.
