The greatest challenges facing retailers, suppliers and small firms with the introduction of the euro will be in the areas of dual pricing and the timing of the changeover, according to Ulster Bank Markets head of strategic planning, Mr Pat McArdle. He stressed that strategic issues need to be considered before practical preparations can be made.

Mr McArdle was speaking at a seminar, organised by the Small Firms Association, on the theme of "living with a single currency".
