THE US computer company Dell, which employs a total of 1,400 people at its plants in Limerick and in Bray, Co Wicklow, has reported record results for its second quarter to July 28th.
After tax profits at Dell for the three month period rose by 58 per cent to $103 million (£64 million) as turnover grew by 40 per cent to $1.69 billion. Chief executive officer, Mr Michael Dell said the company "excelled in every measure of performance" during the quarter.
Europe sales from its Limerick manufacturing base grew by 35 per cent led by strong growth in France and Germany, while US sales increased by 46 per cent.
