SALES of Pringle branded golfwear helped Scottish textile group Dawson enjoy a well above par performance, its annual results revealed yesterday. Pretax profits in the year to the end of March shot up to £12.5 million sterling from 1995/96's restated total of £4.3 million, although sales dropped to £297.4 million from £304.1 million. Earnings per share climbed to 5.4p from 1.5p and the company is paying a total dividend of 3.3p, up 10 per cent from the previous year's total of 3p.
