AN electronic revolution hit the London stock market yesterday when a new computerised system of share dealing came into operation. Paper share certificates are to be replaced by Crest, which is aimed at making trading in shares quicker and more secure. Crest will do away with the need for tens of thousands of bits of paper, currently used each day for buying and selling shares.
