A Florida jury has ruled Walt Disney stole the idea for a sports-themed park from a former baseball umpire and his architect partner and must pay them $240 million (€265 million) in damages. It accepted the plaintiffs' claim that Disney's Wide World of Sports complex, which opened in 1997 near Orlando, was based on plans and a model the two men proposed in a 1987 meeting with Disney executives.
